Bodie Island Lighthouse

Bodie Island Lighthouse has always stood out to me as one of those places that captures the feeling of the North Carolina coast. There’s something about seeing this historic lighthouse rising above the landscape that makes you appreciate the beauty and character of the Outer Banks.
When I painted this piece, I wanted to capture more than just the lighthouse itself. I wanted to bring out the peaceful feeling of the surrounding landscape and the sense of openness that you experience when you’re out along the coast. The colors and expressive brushwork are my way of putting my own artistic touch on a place that feels distinctly North Carolina.
This painting is especially meaningful to me because I love creating artwork inspired by places that feel familiar, peaceful, and connected to home. Bodie Island Lighthouse is my interpretation of one of the Outer Banks’ most recognizable landmarks—a piece that I hope brings a little bit of the North Carolina coast into your home.
